SUST approval rate of the CSC Western Project Program is 100%

The Special Talents Training Program for the Western Region (hereinafter referred to as the “Western Project”) is a public study abroad study project launched by the China Scholarship Council to support the National “Belt and Road"  initiative, giving priority to the development of the western region and improving the quality of personnel training in the western region.

On July 30, the China Scholarship Council announced the list of 2019 western directory entries. All the 10 teachers recommended by our univeristy were admitted, including:

College of Bioresources Chemical and Materials Engineering: 1;

College of Materials Science and Engineering: 1;

College of Environmental Science and Engineering: 2;

College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering: 2;

College of Arts and Science: 2;

College of Economics and Management: 1;

Department of Education: 1.

There are 6 visiting scholars, 4 postdoctoral fellows in Total. This year, our school gave key guidance to the teachers who applied for the project, and the approval rate also reached 100% for the first time. The teachers of the Department of Education were selected for the first time.

In recent years, the enthusiasm of our teachers and students to study abroad is a higher level. This year, our school's teachers and students have been approved for 38 national public-sector projects, including 19 national senior research scholars, visiting scholars, and post-doctoral programs; 10 western projects; vocational college teachers to study in Germany; 1 high-level university 8 graduate programs.

The Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges has always adhered to the interest of teachers and students, adhered to the principle of “building a broader platform and providing better services” for the international exchange of teachers and students, and constantly applied for the declaration and approval of tasks such as studying abroad, visiting schools, and short-term public assignments. Optimize the formalities and strengthen the service, in order to contribute more to the road of “founding, revitalizing and soaring” in SUST
