"National College Huang Danian-style Teachers Team", Professor Zhang Meiyun's team from the College of Bioresources Chemical and Materials Engineering of our university recently published an article entitled "Fabrication, Applications, and Prospects of Aramid Nanofiber" in the top journal of the international engineering technology and material science field "Advanced Functional Materials". (DOI: doi.org/10.1002/adfm.202000186). SUST is the only communication university of the thesis. Our teacher Dr. YANG Bin is the first and corresponding author of the thesis, and Professor ZHANG Meiyun is the co-corresponding author. This is the first time that our university has published a paper in this international authoritative journal, which has effectively enhanced our university's influence in the field of engineering technology and materials science research.

Professor ZHANG Meiyun's team has been committed to the research and development of high-performance paper-based functional materials for many years, and has made a series of important progress in functional fiber materials and nano-paper-based composite materials. "Advanced Functional Materials" is one of the most influential journals in the field of international engineering technology and materials science, with an impact factor of 15.621. It is a top journal in Engineering Technology / Materials Science / Comprehensive Category 1 defined by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. For the first time, this paper systematically summarizes the preparation, application of aramid nanofibers, the existing challenges and future development directions in this field.

The article first introduces the preparation method of aramid nanofibers and its advantages and disadvantages, and focuses on the challenges and latest research results of the most widely used deprotonating method to prepare aramid nanofibers. Second, it discusses different dimensions of aramid Construction method, structure and performance characteristics of new nanofiber-based materials (1D fiber, 2D film / paper / coating, 3D hydrogel / aerogel / particle). The article also highlights the application progress of aramid nanofibers in the areas of composite reinforcement, battery separators, electrical insulation, flexible electronics, and adsorption filtration; it summarizes and looks forward to the challenges and opportunities for aramid nanofibers in the future. This review has certain guiding significance for the in-depth study of aramid nanofibers and the development and diversified application of advanced functional materials based on aramid nanofibers.
