The ESI (Essential Science Indicators) database was updated on the evening of May 14, and the data coverage range is from January 1, 2010 to February 29, 2020. In the update, a total of 6455 scientific research institutions worldwide have ranked top 1% of ESI in the world and SUST ranks 2833, an increase of 232 from March's data; it ranks 196 in mainland universities, ranking the top 200 for the first time, and the increase lists top 7 in mainland universities; 5 shaanxi-provincial universities are listed on the mainland universities, and our university ranks the 3rd. The material science and chemistry science of SUST maintain the top 1% in the world, and the ESI ranking of these two disciplines have steadily improved.
ESI is published every 2 months. Generally, the newest 2 months' data is added on the previous data, but the last year's data is removed in May. Therefore, the data released this time is the biggest change in one year. In this update, our school's materials science ranks 517 (921 institutions worldwide), an increase of 43 from the previous period; the chemistry science ranks 1056 (1299 institutions worldwide), an increase of 109 from the previous period. The engineering discipline potential value is 77.3%, an increase of 1.78% from the previous period.
