Dewei Qi is a professor at the Department of Chemical and Paper Engineering at Western Michigan University. He graduated from the Papermaking Department of Beijing Institute of Light Industry in 1969. He graduated from the University of Waterloo in Canada in 1992 with a Ph.D. in physics. He has served as a visiting professor at the Wright Aviation Laboratory in the United States, the National Aeronautics Research Institute, and the NASA Institute of Computer Science and Engineering. The world's leading experts in paper physics and pulp fluid dynamics, including Boltzmann lattice simulation of flexible multibody systems in fluids, fiber physics, pulp engineering, resource recycling, and blood and biological fluids. He has worked in the Canadian Pulp and Paper Research Institute, the University of Waterloo, Canada, and the American Pulp and Paper Research Institute.
