On September 28th, 5 foreign teachers, more than 20 international students from Pakistan, Morocco, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Cameroon, Zambia, Ghana, Sudan and other countries and more than 20 undergraduates from the College of Food and Biological Engineering of SUST gathered together for celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival along the Keda Lake of SUST. Vice President WANG Haiyan, Professor ZHANG Sufeng and Miss LIU Yufan of the OICE (Office of International Corperation and Exchange) and relevant teachers and staff attended the event.

An Erhu solo "Horse Race" kicked off the event and ignited the atmosphere of the scene. After the introduction of the history and food culture of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the foreign teachers and students adopted a group cooperation method to start making snowy moon cakes with the help of the students from the College of Food and Biological Engineering. The "teachers" taught with patience and earnestness, and the "students" listened with full attention. Professor WANG Haiyan, Professor ZHANG Sufeng, Miss LIU Yufan and staff of OICE were also enthusiastic about making moon cakes with Chinese and foreign teachers and students. Amidst the laughter, moon cakes with the emblem of Shaanxi University of Science and Technology, the univeristy motto "Excellent and Pioneering", the emblem of the College of International Education, and the emblem of the College of Food and Biological Engineering were made. Foreign teachers and students fully enjoyed the event and put the homemade moon cakes into the box carefully.

At the scene, Jiuge Hanfu Club also provided several sets of Hanfu to try on. The international students wore Hanfu, held moon cakes, took a group photo with a bright smile on the shore of the University of Science and Technology, and experienced the Mid-Autumn Festival folk customs.

Everyone missed relatives during the festival season. Everyone shared their hometown's holiday customs and expressed their longing and blessings for their hometown and family. KHURRAM OLLOYOROV, a 2020 Ph.D. freshman from Uzbekistan, said excitedly: "I have been at Shaanxi University of Science and Technology for half a month. This event not only made me having friends, but also tasted delicious homemade moon cakes. I am very happy. "MOHAMMAD AL MASUM, a master student from Bangladesh, said: "I am very happy to be the host of this event. I have not seen my family for more than a year because of the epidemic. I miss them very much, but I am also glad to study at Shaanxi University of Science and Technology. The teachers and students here are great. Shaanxi University of Science and Technology is my second home.”XIAO Bin, a junior from the College of Food and Biological Engineering, said: "This is the first time since I come to the univeristy. Chinese and foreign teachers and students have had fun at the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival. This event not only allowed foreign teachers and students to learn about traditional Chinese festivals, but also provided opportunities for Chinese and foreign teachers and students to establish friendships, allowing them to better integrate into diverse campus cultures.
