Prof. Zhongyang Zhong of Auburn University,Dean of School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Chongqing University and Prof.Zidong Weiof the Ministry of Education, visitedSUSTfor"Frontier Science Report"

For the invitation of the Science and Technology Department and the College of Materials Science and Engineering, Prof. Zhongyang Zhong of the Department of Mechanical Materials of the University of Auburn, Prof. Zidong Wei, Dean of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of the Chongqing University and Professor of Changjiang Scholarships of the Ministry of Education, respectively, recently served as our frontier scientific reporter to the faculty, graduate students and some undergraduates of the college and related majors students. The report was chaired by Zhu Jianfeng, Dean of the College of Materials Science and Engineering. Vice President Li Zhijian and Deputy Director of Science and Technology Department Fei Jie attended the report meeting.

Li Zhijian introduced the development of SUST and communicated with the two professors on the academic and international cooperation work of the university.

Prof. Cheng Zhongyang’s report title is“Dielectric composite materials and applications”. It focuses on the advantages of using ceramic materials with excellent dielectric properties, high compressive strength of polymer materials, excellent processing performance, and small dielectric loss. The process produces composite materials with excellent dielectric properties, easy processing and molding, and the wide application of such polymer matrix composites with excellent properties.

Professor Wei Zidong's report is titled "Research Progress of Non-Precious Metal Fuel Cell Catalysts", focusing on the preparation of NG catalysts and the results achieved.

The reports of the two professors were explained in a simple way. They also interacted with the teachers and students, so that they broadened their academic horizons and benefited greatly.
